Whilst searching for small lizards and frogs amongst the undergrowth,
this chunk-headed snake (Imantodes cenchoa) can suspend the entire
front half of its body in the air as it passes between branches. Such
behavior enables it to approach its prey without causing vibrations. |

A thorn spider waits for visitors… One theory as to
the function of this style of web is that insects may confuse it with
a flower due to the wavelengths of light that it reflects - an error
that can prove fatal.
